Finest Blend, Weston-Super-Mare

I had purchased this afternoon tea via Groupon a few months ago. After booking over the phone my husband and I arrived to see our table already laid out with cups, cutlery and tiered stand.

We were greeted by staff and asked if we preferred tea or coffee. A different tea other than English Breakfast wasn't offered but I'm unsure if that was because the waiter forgot or we were meant to ask. To be honest we would of gone for English Breakfast anyway :P

Once the pot arrived we were given the menu and told that we could select 3 different sandwich fillings and these could be served in either brown or white bread.

I went for Salmon and Cucumber and then we got double cheese as Jerry is a vegetarian.
Cheese or Egg Mayo were the only vegetarian options.

The second tier consisted of two current scones, jam and clotted cream. Not forgetting the freshly cut strawberries! The waiter even offered to warm the scones when we got to them if we liked.

The top tier had a small selection of bitesize fresh cream cakes.
2 eclairs, 2 French custard slices and 2 macaroons.

Overall it was a satisfying afternoon tea and I'd be happy going again when I'm next in Weston-Super-Mare. Fast and friendly service, with a large enough serving to keep you full until tea time!

Note: They do get incredibly busy on the weekends, so I'd recommend booking in advance so not to be disappointed upon arrival.

Cox and Baloney's Vintage Boutique, Bristol

After an hour or so trying wedding dresses on, my friend Becky and I header to this beautiful boutique and tea rooms on Cheltenham Road, Bristol.

After a good look through the Lunch Menu, we decided to go for the 'Lilyis Afternoon Tea (A Special Treat!)'.
Priced at £21 for two people (tea option), we found this to be great value.

The tea came in a large pot with different cups and saucers. They had a wide selection of 15 different loose leaf teas to chose from, we settle for 'Mr Darcy', of which is a English Breakfast tea.

For the lunch there was a choice of 5 different sandwich fillings. We settled for egg/cucumber and tuna/sweetcorn. A small selection of homemade cake slices were given and presented lovingly on the second tier.

And to top it off, there were two large scones with fresh clotted cream and locally sourced jam. We loved the fact that the cream and jam was in expresso cups!

The atmosphere in there was warm and comforting, we were also lucky to have live acoustic music! The roaring fire gave the room a cosy feel, and the fireplace alone was stunning to look at.
I think we ended up staying there for a good two hours or so, we never wanted to leave.

With such friendly welcoming staff and amazing food, we will certainly be visiting again in the near future!

If you do ever visit, do visit their boutique next door full with pretty dresses and vintage items for your home.
